Need another reason to monitor your intake of ultra-processed foods? Cutting down on your amounts could help you live longer.

In an observational study published online Feb. 11, 2019, by JAMA Internal Medicine, almost 45,000 adults ages 45 and older completed several dietary assessments over a two-year period. On average, ultra-processed foods made up about 15% of their daily diet as measured in grams.

Ultra-processed food was defined as ready-to-eat and microwaveable foods, such as bread, breakfast cereals, instant noodles, chicken or fish nuggets, chocolate bars and candies, chips, and artificially sweetened beverages.

After nine years, the researchers found a direct statistical connection between higher intake of ultra-processed food and a higher risk of early death from all causes, especially cancers and cardiovascular disease.

Several factors might explain the connection, according to the researchers. Ultra-processed foods often have fewer nutrients than unprocessed foods, and they contain higher amounts of sugar, salt, saturated fat, and food additives, all of which are associated with an increased risk for chronic diseases.

Besides cutting back on processed foods, the researchers suggested people read food labels when shopping and choose products with a shorter list of ingredients and few or no additives.

Definitely, some big companies making peanut burger would be using machine or whatever to make theirs but in this article am going to show you how you can make some peanut burger of your own.

Equipment you need to make peanut burger.

Big mix bowl.


Cooking spoon.

Small pot.


Ingredients to make peanut burger

245 g of flour

1 egg

1 cup of roasted groundnut

2 tbsp of sugar.

1/4 tbsp of nutmeg

1 tbsp of baking powder

A pinch of salt.

Vegetable oil.

Preparation of the peanut burger.

Put the groundnut in the mixing bowl and keep aside.

Put the 245 g of sugar in a bowl.

Add the 2 tbsp of sugar ,1/4 tbsp of nutmeg, 1 tbsp of baking powder and a pinch of salt into the bowl containing the flour.

Mix the dry ingredients well.

Make sure not to use water when mixing it. It should be all plain.

After mixing the whole plain ingredients together, sieve the plain ingredients so it comes out very smooth for the groundnut coating.

When done with this get a small bowl and break the egg into it and whisk well.

Take the bowl containing the whisked egg and drizzle a bit around the groundnut and remain some.

Next use a splatula or cooking spoon to turn the groundnut so as to wet properly on the whisked eggs.

Sprinkle the plain mixed ingredients from the other bowl on the groundnut so it can glue to the groundnut.

Keep drizzing and sprinkling the whisked egg and dry mixed ingredients

When you’ve gotten the nice shaped coated peanut, pour a little amount of vegetable oil in a cooking pot and put it on the cooker to heat up.

When the vegetable oil has heat up, put the coated groundnut into the hot vegetable oil and allow it to fry.

After about 3-4minutes of frying, the coated groundnut should have turned brown.

When you’re done with all frying, put the coated peanut in a bowl and allow it to cool properly then you can now put it a container and server yourself at anytime.
