Prince Charles, the heir apparent to the British Throne and the future King of England is a motorhead that has over a hundred cars in the Royal garage.

The Environmentalist has revealed in a BBC documentary celebrating his 70th birthday how he forced
Aston Martin’s Engineers to find an alternative and environmentally friendly option than petrol to power his gas-guzzler classic Aston Martin DB6 Volante.

The Prince’s 21st birthday gift from his 92 year old mother, Queen Elizabeth II now runs entirely on surplus English wine .

Prince Charles said:

“They discovered they could run it on surplus English white wine, but also I hadn’t realised that they had mixed whey into it too”

“The engineers at Aston said, ‘Oh, it’ll ruin the whole thing’.

“I said, ‘Well I won’t drive it then’, so they got on with it and now they admit that it runs better and is more powerful on that fuel than it is on petrol.

“And also, it smells delicious as you’re driving along”

His son Prince William also drove the rare blue 49 year-old Aston Martin DB6 Volante with the “JU5T WED sign on his wedding day back in 2011.

The Prince visited Nigeria last week during his royal tour of West Africa where he met the President and all the Royal Fathers .

MTN Group Limited is close to securing a deal with the Central Bank of Nigeria over an order to repay $8.1bn it is alleged to have illegally taken out of the country, according to a person familiar with the matter.

Bloomberg reported that a settlement might be sealed by Monday and could come as early as Friday, said the person, who asked not to be identified because they’re not authorised to comment publicly.

The CBN is set to meet four lenders of MTN Nigeria to discuss a dispute over an $8.1bn fund transfer, a banking source told Reuters.

It was gathered that the CBN emailed invitations on Thursday to the Nigeria Heads of Standard Chartered, Citibank, Stanbic IBTC Bank and Diamond Bank, to attend a meeting on Friday, the source added.

The central bank and the banks declined to comment on a potential meeting on Friday while a spokeswoman for MTN said she did not know of a meeting.

The source said the meeting would start at 4 pm on Friday and focus on MTN’s fund transfer.

The CBN in late August had alleged that MTN and four of its banks – Standard Chartered Plc, Citigroup Inc., Stanbic IBTC Plc and Diamond Bank Plc – illegally repatriated $8.1bn from Nigeria while the office of the Attorney General of the Federation claimed the company failed to remit $2bn back taxes.

The CBN also imposed a total fine of N5.87bn on the four banks for allegedly remitting dividends with irregular Certificates of Capital Importation on behalf of MTN Nigeria between 2007 and 2015.

Meanwhile, MTN Nigeria Communication Limited has sued the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Mr Abubakar Malami (SAN), before the Federal High Court in Lagos, demanding N3bn as general and exemplary damages.

The telecoms firm is challenging the August 20, 2018 letter written to it by the AGF, demanding N242bn and $1.3bn as import duties, withholding and value added taxes.

The firm, in the suit filed through its lawyer, Chief Wole Olanipekun (SAN), described the AGF’s N242bn and $1.3bn demand from it as “malicious, unreasonable and one made on an incorrect legal basis.”

MTN contended that in writing the demand letter to it, the AGF acted beyond his powers and violated the provisions of Section 36 of the constitution on fair hearing with “the purported revenue assets investigation” he carried out on the firm’s activities covering 2007 to 2017.

MTN, through Olanipekun, is urging the court to declare that the AGF acted illegally by “usurping the powers of the Federal Inland Revenue Service, to audit and demand remittance of withholding tax and value-added tax.”

The firm also wants the court to declare that with the “self-assessment exercise,” the AGF usurped the powers of the Nigerian Customs Service to demand payment of import duties on the importation of goods.

It wants the court to declare that “the purported self-assessment” conducted by the AGF was “unknown to the law, null and void and of no effect whatsoever”.

But the AGF has filed a preliminary objection, urging the court to dismiss MTN’s suit.

The AGF, through his lawyer, Mr T.A. Gazali, argued that MTN’s suit was incompetent, having not been filed within three months of the complaint.

Gazali argued that MTN’s suit breached the provisions of Section 2 of the Public Officers Protection Act, “which provides that any action commenced against a public officer must be made within three months from the commencement of a cause of action.”

The big sites have already been ranked on Google front page. I was watching a video about SEO on YouTube when the guy said SEO takes years to work. He further said that it takes years to establish domain authority which is what Google uses to rank sites on its search engine. The best way to rank on Google and build high traffic is by running ads. Those big sites spend a lot on ads even till now and that’s why they stay on top. Thinking it’s easy to rank suddenly without spending is not being realistic. Jumia and Konga has a lot of traffic but they spend big on online advertising. That’s my little observation

The Nigerian Communications Commission, NCC has appealed to all stakeholders and consumers of telecom services to defend all telecoms infrastructure spread across the country from undue interference by hoodlums for improved quality of service.

The Executive Vice Chairman of the Commission, Prof. Umar Danbatta made the appeal on Thursday at the sensitization programme on the protection of telecoms infrastructure held at Abdusalam Abubakar Youth Centre, Minna Niger State. Prof. Danbatta, who was represented at the occasion by the Head of Zonal Operation, North Central, Ms Helen Obi said the sensitization workshop on protection of telecoms infrastructure as critical national assets was to enlighten the public and stakeholders on the need to protect telecom infrastructure within their communities and to treat them as collective heritage. He noted that the workshop was also intended to present a platform to address concerns usually expressed by the public about telecom infrastructure. The NCC boss who lamented the pervading challenges of seamless provision of telecom services in the country, said protection of existing infrastructure and increase in deployment of robust critical telecom infrastructure was imperative for attainment of the 30% broadband penetration target by end of 2018. “These facilities have been targets of vandalism, theft and hostility in some communities. It is therefore imperative for the public to regard telecom facilities as collective owned infrastructure that are crucial and essential for provision of efficient and acceptably quality of service. She said, “part of our mandate is to engage service providers and we are also to ensure technical regulations and set prices and tariffs. Generally, it is our mandate to create a level playing field for investors in the telecom industry. NCC is equally charged with the mandate to protect telecom consumers so that they are not unduly taken advantage of by service providers by making sure that there is acceptable quality of service in the industry. ‘‘What we hope to achieve is to sensitive the consumers and stakeholders and even the agencies of federal, state and local governments on the need to protect telecom infrastructure, keying into the 8 Point Agenda of our chief executive, which seeks to ensure high quality of service and broadband penetration. ‘‘Vandalizing this infrastructure compromises effort of government to achieve the 30% target for broadband penetration for 2018. NCC so far has achieved 22 percent and we are making sure that we achieve the remaining 8 percent. ‘‘Telecom infrastructure is infrastructure that serve all of us beneficially. We need to work collectively and work against its vandalism so that it can serve the purpose it is meant for. ‘‘Vandalism destroys the infrastructure that feed services being renderd by the service providers. This is why we must treat telecom infrastructure as a common asset,’’ she added. On the delay in the passage of the telecom industry bill at the National Assembly, Obi said NCC is engaging as much as possible the National Assembly in this regard, “maybe legislative processes has been delaying but I know that NCC has not rested on its oars to make sure that that bill is timely passed.” In his paper presentation, Engr. Lawal Bello of the Technical department of NCC, said the telecom industry is facing a lot of challenges from power, multiple taxation and vandalism, which hampers the effort of government to provide ubiquitous telecom services in the country. He described the workshop as a clarion call to consumers, traditional rulers and government agencies to ensure that the critical telecom assets are fully protected. ‘‘The spate of telecom infrastructure has resulted to slow down of services. There is need for National Assembly to pass the Telecom Industry Bill and declare the infrastructure critical national assets. ‘‘Critical infrastructure does not only affect one person but all. Telecom infrastructure bill when passed into law will increase quality of service in Nigeria.’’ In his response, the Head of Service to the Niger State Government, represented by the Permanent Secretary in the Human Resource Development Department, Mr. Abubakar Salisu urged the NCC to create a special incentive for states to encourage them protect the telecom infrastructure in their domain. Also speaking, Ahjia Asmawo Baba said ‘‘I am glad to be here, at least NCC have been able to make us understand that the telecom masts around the residential areas are not harmful. At least I now know that when I have problem, I can channel them to NCC for address. ‘‘In a society where we think government provides everything we need, it is good we have community involvement. We live with these people in the community, if we become our community watch, even with all these crisis like Boko Haram, such crisis will addressed. It is good they go round. This is a good development.’’

One would ordinarily anticipate that newer cars will be more excellent as far as designs than their past models yet for a few cars, the reverse is the situation. Some latest models of cars deserve an honor for “ugliest auto of the year”. The older models appeared to have better structures and I ask why they just couldn’t improve on the designs as opposed to releasing revolting cars on us. In this post TechCapon will give us a breakdown of best new autos that are uglier than their much older models. This rundown is accumulated dependent on cars prevalent on the streets as there are other monstrous cars out there that are not on our rundown.

5. Ugly cars: Honda Accord

Honda Accord is one car whose most recent design did not get my attention by any stretch of the imagination. The older models are no doubt more lovely than the new model by a wide edge. The enormous grill at the front and, the tiny headlamp and the general design looks abnormal yet a Honda fan may even think that its lovely.

4. Ugly cars: Hyundai Elantra

Taking a look at the two models of the Hyundai Elantra you can tell that something isn’t right with the most recent model as far as design is concerned. The older models have a bolder, curvier plan and looks more attractive to the eye than the new model. The most recent model has a straight look both front and back and does not have the provocative look of the old model. I earnestly trust Hyundai enhances the design of future models of the Elantra considering the way this is one of the most selling models in the Hyundai car line-up.

3. Ugly cars: Kia Sportage

Mehn, I don’t know who planned this ugly car in light of the fact that Kia Motor organization has one of the best designers in the auto business, Peter Shreyer. I sincerely would prefer not to believe he has anything to do with this structure of the most recent Kia Sportage. The older model looks all the more engaging and more wonderful. The front headlamps of the new model looks like frog eyes. This new model looks wiped out and dull and this may be the reason the car I not doing too well in the market nowadays.

2. Ugly cars: Toyota Camry

It would appear that Toyota Camry continues getting uglier with each new model being discharged. The whole front of camry is covered with a big grill nobody needs. While the inside appears to have enhanced, the outside appears to have dwindled. The body appears to have contracted inside contrasted with the newer models. Truly, if they can’t come up with a superior design they should simply bring back the old camry design. #BringBackOurCamry

1. Ugly cars: Infinity QX80

Infiniti has dependably pride themselves of being a luxury brand and the way that they thought of this ugly car either intentionally or unintentionally makes me put them on the top spot on my list. This new model is terribly contrasted with the older 2009 model no doubt. It is terrible. Infiniti ought to have improved the designed being an luxury designed however since the car is already here, there’s nothing we can do about it. I incline toward the looks on the older QX80 than the latest one.

Hundreds of Google employees walked out of their office buildings in protest of the company’s handling of sexual harassment allegations against executives.

The Thursday morning protest took place at Google offices around the world. Employees in London, Tokyo, Singapore and Dublin walked out earlier Thursday to protest the tech giant’s reported handling of sexual misconduct allegations.

In some places, the protesting employees used megaphones to express their displeasure at the company’s management while showing support for victims of sexual harassment. In others, they stayed inside, gathering in lobbies or conference rooms.

In Chicago, a crowd of more than 200 Google workers flooded out of the office and onto the sidewalk just after 11 a.m. Some carried coffee and chatted with colleagues, and others waved signs that read, “I will not sit idly by,” “Not OK, Google” and “Time’s up, tech.”

In Sunnyvale, California, hundreds of employees were seen walking out of their office building.
The backlash was prompted by an article in The New York Times last week that revealed that Google had paid millions of dollars in exit packages to male executives accused of harassment, while staying silent about the transgressions.
