Barcelona star, Lionel Messi can be cloned as claimed Genetics expert Arcadi Navarro, head of the European Genome-Phenome Archive (EGA).

Navarro made the claim during an interview on Spanish radio station Cadena SER, where he aid the player can have a double with the use of existing technology and techniques, The Sun UK reports

A clone of the Barcelona superstar would arrive as a baby with the same potential as one of the greatest players ever. Navarro said:

“Yes, Messi could be cloned with current techniques.

“We would achieve a being very similar to Messi, the result would look like Messi’s twin, as if two twins had been born and we had frozen one of them for 20 or 30 years.

”However, it is no guarantee that Mini-Messi would end up being as good as the real version – because of environmental and educational impacts as well as experience.

The real Messi joined Barcelona as a tiny 13-year-old from Argentina’s Newell’s Old Boys.

He’d had growth hormone deficiency and needed to have treatment for four years from the ages of 10 to 14.

He then spent years at Barcelona’s famed La Masia academy honing his skills, before playing alongside the likes of Ronaldinho, Thierry Henry, Xavi and Andres Iniesta to become one of the best players in the world.

Navarro says that all those factors make Messi the player he is today – something that might not be replicated in a Messi clone.

The scientist added: “This person could have the same potential as Messi, his qualities have a genetic component and another more educational, environmental.

“Messi isn’t who he is only because of his genes, but because of everything he has lived through, his education, his stay in La Masia, the treatment he received.

“Genetics give us potential, then to fulfil it, it’s our own work.”

There are few details on the studio itself, such as its size, location, or what titles it’s working on. But it’s being led by Jade Raymond, a longtime producer and executive at both EA and Ubisoft.

While it may be disappointing that we don’t know much about the studio, its sheer existence signals that Google is taking this new venture seriously.

Four African countries made the list in terms of top 10 countries by share of users attacked by mobile malware; Nigeria climbs from fifth place in 2017 to third in 2018.

Kaspersky Lab researchers have seen the number of attacks using malicious mobile software nearly double in just a year. In 2018 there were 116.5 million attacks, compared to 66.4 million in 2017, with a significant increase in unique users being affected.

Despite more devices being attacked, the number of malware files has decreased; leading researchers to conclude that the quality of mobile malware has become more impactful and precise. These and other findings are unveiled in Kaspersky Lab’s report Mobile malware evolution 2018.

As the world becomes more mobile, the role of smartphones in business processes and day to day life is growing rapidly. In response, cybercriminals are paying more attention to how they are distributing malware and the attack vectors used.

The channels through which malware is delivered to users and infects their devices is a key part of the success of a malicious campaign today, taking advantage of those users who do not have any security solutions installed on their phones.

The success of the distribution strategies is demonstrated not only by the increase in attacks, but also the number of unique users that have encountered malware. In 2018 this figure rose by 774,000 on the previous year, to 9,895,774 affected users.

Among the threats encountered, the most significant growth was in the use of Trojan-Droppers, whose share almost doubled from 8.63% to 17.21%. This type of malware is designed to bypass system protection and deliver there all sorts of malware, from banking Trojans to ransomware.

“In 2018, mobile device users faced what could have been the fiercest cybercriminal onslaught ever seen. Over the course of the year, we observed both new mobile device infection techniques, such as DNS hijacking, along with an increased focus on enhanced distribution schemes, like SMS spam.

This trend demonstrates the growing need for mobile security solutions to be installed on smartphones – to protect users from device infection attempts, regardless of the source,” said Viсtor Chebyshev, security expert at Kaspersky Lab.

Four African countries made the list in terms of top 10 countries by share of users attacked by mobile malware – Nigeria in 3rd place at 37.72%, Algeria in 5th place (35.06%), Tanzania in 8th place (31.34%) and Kenya in 9th place with 29.72%.

Apple is a very secretive company as we already know but most iPhone users know what Siri is and may have used it already. For those who may not know, Siri is Apple’s version of Google Assistant. It is Apple’s own personal assistant on iPhones and iPads. That female robotic voice you hear whenever you use Siri actually belong to a real human being. Her name is Susan Bennett and she is a successful voice actor!

Her voice is probably one of the most popular female voices in the world right now because anyone who has used an iPhone from 2011 till date has actually heard her voice and we are talking hundreds of millions if not a billion people. CNN was shocked when a woman came to them and told them her voice is the voice of Siri. “I’m the actor who provided the voice for Siri,” she told CNN. They didn’t believe her at first, they had to hire a professional audio forensics expert to analyse her voice. Ed Primeau, the expert studied the two voices and confirmed they are 100% identical, a perfect match!

At first, she didn’t know her voice was used for Siri until a colleague at the office told her about this new Apple phone that sounds just like her. She said as soon as she heard it, immediately, she knew it was her voice. In 2005, she was hired by Apple to record her voice by reading random words and phrases. She didn’t know what the voice was going to use for an Apple is a secretive company refused to tell her.

She would read long letters for 4 hours every day and she thought the job was a boring job. The gig lasted for a month. That voice was later used for Apple’s robot assistant called Siri. Funny enough, they didn’t even tell her that her voice will be used. Apple later introduced a male (Siri) voice option for Apple in some countries.

Susan Bennett is a successful voice actor who has worked for big brands like Apple, Coca-Cola, McDonald’s, Delta airlines, and much more. Next time you hear that husky female robotic voice, just know it belongs to Susan Berrett!
