Mariah Carey’s Los Angeles mansion was broken into and the burglars got away with $50,000 worth of items. Reports showed that Mariah’s crib was targeted around 3AM Thursday, October 19. A ladder was found in the backyard, that appears to be used to climb in through a window, door, or upper floor.
Surprisingly, the robbers didn’t find any jewelry. But they racked up on $50,000 worth of designer purses and sunglasses. That might sound like a lot of items the crooks had to walk away with, but considering Mimi’s luxurious taste, they only left with about 10 items in total.

Thankfully, MC is all the way in New York City and no one was present in her home at the time. The burglars triggered a silent alarm, however, security didn’t discover the break in until about 3 or 4 hours after it happened.

LA law enforcements are adding this case to the slew of recent robberies including Jason Derulo, Alanis Morissette, David Spade, Emmy Rossum and Scott Disick just to name a few.

An American woman Ariana Austin, now 33, was on a night out in Washington DC nightclub, with a friend when they were approached by Joel Makonnen in the Pearl.

“I said: ‘You guys look like an ad for Bombay Sapphire’,” he said about their first encounter.

“Not even five minutes later I said: ‘You’re going to be my girlfriend’.”

What he didn’t reveal that night 12-years ago, was that plain old Joel was actually Prince Joel, the great-grandson of Haile Selassie I, Ethiopia’s last emperor.

But after the couple started dating seriously, Mr Makonnen, who works as a lawyer, eventually revealed his royal heritage

His father had escaped the bloodshed in his homeland because he was studying abroad at the time. The family subsequently settled in Switzerland.

Mr Makonnen is related to Haile Selassie I through the emperor’s second son Prince Makonnen.

The royal family traces its roots back to the Biblical King Solomon and the Queen of Sheba.

The pair married in a lavish Ethiopian Orthodox Christian wedding with 13 priests, two crowns and a pair of capes on 9 September.
